The Wisdom of a Child at House of Hope

My wife Susan shared the Mother's Day message here at Gateway. At the end of her message she closed with a poem written by one of the children at House of Hope in Kenya. She had seen this poem on the wall of the girls' dormitory while we were there last July, and took a picture of it because it was so moving to us.
It's amazing to us that any child at House of Hope, who has been through all they have been through, would have the wisdom and maturity to write this. We can all learn from this child. Several folks asked for copies of this, so I'm posting here. Below are her words:

POEM
I’ve seen the Lord
I’ve seen his glory
He is full of authority and power
Yet loved with such a childlike humility
am witness of his majesty.
Though he is God
He is born of a woman
You say a woman?
Yea, human body housed God
Holiness and earthliness in a woman’s womb
And the Word became flesh
and lived among us
and we have seen his glory
full of grace and truth
God had entered the world as a baby.
Jesus the King of Kings
though born in a manger
and suffered in the hands of sinful men
today He is alive
Alpha and Omega
He is my Lord. Amen.
